I have worked two 4 month contracts and one 3 month contract in Mauritius on a horse quarantine station for horses en route to Europe. This involved overseeing the complex daily routines of up to 80 horses and their paddock schedules, track schedules and feed structures. I was solely responsible for treating any horses that were sick and needed injections or injured horses that needed bandages and poultices. I had to treat colic’s, travel sickness as well as a case of biliary.

 

Brechin Trust (2017- 2021 )

I worked as a farm manager. My job description includes overseeing the farm staff and managing the sheep and horses. I am also involved in the pig operation from time to time.  I  am often called upon to treat sick or injured animals who’s wounds range from minor to life threatening. These have  included the successful long term treatment of snake bites in both horses and dogs. I have successfully tubed horses suffering from Choke on numerous occasions.

I have an ultrasound machine that I use in the sheep operation to confirm conception percentages. I am periodically called upon by other farmers to scan sheep and goats and have also worked at The Royal Show in Pietermaritzburg for the  KZN Indigenous Veld Goat & Sheep Club.

 

Underberg Country Club  (2021- Current)

I am currently working as an admin assistant at Underberg Country Club where I am responsible for:

·         doing the daily cash ups, following up on debtors

·         weekly and monthly stock takes.

·         members and external communications such as dealing with new applications, changes to details and social media communication.

·         dealing with the creditors and debtors and processing invoices on pastel.

·         staff matters such as the time rosters and preparation of the payroll on excel.

·         summarization and monthly reporting of all expense(Repairs & maintenance, utilities etc.) and income( Bar, kitchen, sports sections) for the finance committee.

·         control and submit the relevant returns or forms (Electricity & water, Purchase orders, fuel usage, and administrative filing).

·         excessive work on excel for the relevant reports for management.

·         organize a number of functions for the Country Club.

I have also gained a lot of experience in pastel.
