Community & Marketing Manager (R30,000 – R45,000/month)
We’re hiring on behalf of a founder-led cybersecurity recruitment and consulting firm. A tight team of nine with a serious CISO network – the kind of business where reputation has been built entirely through relationships, and where the leadership team is genuinely plugged into one of the most in-demand niches in the market.
The role
This company has built something real — a genuine network, a niche reputation, and a leadership team with something worth saying. What they don’t have yet is someone to make sure the right people hear it. That’s where you come in.
You’ll own brand and demand end-to-end — content, community, events, paid media, and the systems that tie it all together. Working closely with the founder, you’ll turn ideas into campaigns, conversations into community, and visibility into inbound opportunity.
You won’t be handed a brief and told to execute. You’ll build the engine, run it, and be accountable for what it produces.
Brand & Content
Own the company’s LinkedIn presence and full content calendar
Produce and schedule the leadership team’s weekly content — in their voice
Run the newsletter end-to-end
Repurpose podcast and event content across formats to extend every piece of IP
Community & Events — this is where you’ll make your mark
This company doesn’t do average networking events. Think less annual dinner, more hired a Ferrari and got senior CISOs behind the wheel. The bar for what a community moment looks like here is high — and deliberately so.
You’ll be responsible for dreaming up and delivering experiences that the target audience actually wants to attend, talks about afterwards, and associates with this brand. That means:
Conceiving and executing creative event formats: happy hours, intimate dinners, industry activations, conference moments
Managing all logistics, communications, and post-event follow-through
Building genuine relationships with key figures in the CISO and cybersecurity community on behalf of the leadership team
Turning events into pipeline — not just goodwill
Demand Generation
Build and run the system that generates consistent inbound interest from CISOs, security leaders, and hiring decision-makers
Create content and campaigns that position the firm as the go-to name in cybersecurity recruitment
Run LinkedIn and Meta ad campaigns — strategy, setup, and optimisation
Report on what’s converting and make fast calls on what to change
Podcast (months 3–4)
Launch and manage a leadership podcast targeting the CISO and security community
Source and book guests, own outreach and booking
Manage briefing, recording handover, and production coordination
Drive the episode → follow-up → commercial conversation flow
What You Bring
4+ years in marketing, brand, or community — ideally in B2B, professional services, or an agency environment where you were close to the client and the strategy.
Proven track record in social media, brand, and community or event activations — with receipts
The kind of creative thinking that produces events people remember, not events people attend out of obligation
Comfortable owning the full arc: concept, logistics, execution, follow-through
Has run or supported paid media — directly or via agency
Familiar with AI tools and comfortable embedding them into your day-to-day workflow
Sharp written English and strong communicator
Thrives in remote, fast-moving, founder-led environments — you don’t need to be managed

R30,000 – R45,000 depending on experience
