Our client is a fast-growing regional online auction company specializing in selling returned and overstock inventory from major big-box retailers. Operating multiple locations across the Carolinas, they run weekly auctions with rapidly shifting inventory cycles. Their focus is on increasing bidder engagement, strengthening their digital presence, and scaling marketing efforts ahead of upcoming geographic expansion.

Fully Remote | 9 AM – 5 PM EST

Role Overview

The Marketing Manager will own the full marketing function, managing communication with leadership, planning content around inventory cycles, expanding email and social media output, building short-form video, and running paid advertising to increase auction participation. The ideal candidate is a strategic yet hands-on marketer who can manage multi-channel campaigns, improve workflows, and recommend new tools and processes within fast-moving e-commerce, auction, or retail environments.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Social Media Management

Create and manage consistent content across Facebook, Instagram, and emerging channels such as TikTok.
Produce and edit short-form videos using raw footage, customer submissions, and UGC.
Ensure daily or weekly posting aligned with upcoming auctions, high-value inventory, and seasonal trends.
Maintain a clear content calendar with proactive planning around inventory fluctuations.

Email & SMS Marketing

Manage weekly and multi-touch email campaigns to an audience of 17,000+ subscribers and 8,000+ bidders.
Create auction previews, reminders, countdowns, and post-auction updates.
Improve segmentation, build automation workflows, and align Mailchimp + SendGrid systems.
Recommend and implement SMS/text marketing tools to increase engagement.

Paid Media & Advertising

Run Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising campaigns, including targeting, retargeting, and boosted posts.
Manage basic Google Ads when needed.
Track performance metrics including ROAS, CTR, CPC, CAC, and budgets.
Recommend strategies to increase bidder acquisition and auction participation.

Digital Infrastructure & Automation

Improve marketing workflows by implementing new tools such as email automation, SMS systems, and scheduling platforms.
Collaborate with the web team to align marketing content with new website features and onboarding tools.
Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all digital touchpoints.

Market Expansion & Local Marketing

Support new location launches through blitz campaigns and geo-targeted strategies.
Coordinate digital campaigns while the owners manage on-the-ground outreach (radio, billboards, podcasts, etc.).
Adjust content to meet the needs of multiple regions as new locations open.

Communication & Reporting

Meet with leadership daily or weekly to review performance, campaigns, inventory, and priorities.
Provide weekly reports summarizing email, social, ads, and engagement metrics.
Maintain transparent communication to ensure marketing aligns with inventory shifts.

Qualifications

Experience

3–5+ years of experience in marketing management, digital marketing, e-commerce, or marketplace environments.
Proven experience running paid social campaigns (Meta required; Google preferred).
Hands-on experience with content creation, short-form video editing, and social media management.
Experience with email platforms such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar tools.

Skills

Strong understanding of organic and paid strategy.
Ability to create, edit, and publish content quickly.
Solid analytical skills with experience interpreting performance data.
Excellent communication and project management abilities.
Proficiency with marketing tools including scheduling platforms, email software, Meta Ads Manager, and basic design tools like Canva or CapCut.
Proactive self-starter able to bring new ideas.
Comfortable working in fast-moving environments with shifting inventory.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns.
Creative thinker focused on results and continuous improvement.
