About the Company:

Position Overview:
We are seeking a data-driven Director of Retention to own and scale the customer lifecycle strategy end-to-end. This role is responsible for driving repeat purchases, improving subscription retention, and maximizing customer lifetime value. You will operate as both a strategist and hands-on leader, using data and experimentation to unlock growth opportunities across the customer journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and execute the end-to-end retention strategy across email, SMS, and subscription channels.
Design and optimize lifecycle flows, including welcome, post-purchase, replenishment, winback, and VIP programs.
Manage and improve subscription performance, including cancellation flows, retention offers, and reactivation campaigns.
Lead a structured testing roadmap using cohort analysis, holdouts, and performance tracking.
Partner cross-functionally with Creative, Analytics, and Acquisition teams to align messaging and insights.
Translate retention performance into clear, actionable reporting for executive leadership.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in CRM, lifecycle, or retention marketing.
2+ years in a leadership or team lead role within a DTC or consumer-focused company.
Proven track record of improving LTV, churn, and repeat purchase metrics.
Strong hands-on experience with email and SMS marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Postscript, Attentive, or similar).
Experience managing subscription platforms (Recharge or similar preferred).
Strong understanding of subscription economics and customer cohort analysis.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in subscription-based DTC eCommerce.
Background in leading or influencing creative strategy for lifecycle campaigns.
Familiarity with loyalty, referral, or community-led growth initiatives.
