Role Overview
Newswise is seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to support our business growth by engaging prospective clients through outbound calls. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, is comfortable on the phone, and wants to grow into a full sales role.

The SDR will focus primarily on calling a daily list of prospective clients, introducing Newswise, qualifying interest, and setting the stage for future sales conversations. After approximately one year, high-performing SDRs will have the opportunity to transition into a Sales Representative role, conducting product demos and closing deals, after training their replacement for outbound calling.

Key Responsibilities
1.Call a daily list of prospective clients and introduce Newswise’s services

2.Communicate clearly and confidently with communications, media relations, and marketing professionals

3.Qualify prospects and document notes, outcomes, and follow-up needs

4.Schedule follow-up conversations or demos with the sales team when appropriate

5.Maintain accurate records of outreach and conversations

6.Learn Newswise’s products, value proposition, and target markets

7.Over time, assist with onboarding and training a new SDR prior to transitioning into a sales role

Growth Path
Year 1: Focus on outbound calling, prospect qualification, and pipeline development

Year 2: Transition into a Sales Representative role providing demos and closing deals, contingent on performance, while training a replacement SDR

Compensation
1.Modest base salary

Qualifications
1.Strong verbal communication skills and comfort speaking on the phone

2.Organized, persistent, and goal-oriented

3.Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive, professional tone

4.Interest in sales, media, communications, or higher education markets

5.Prior sales, customer service, or outbound calling experience is a plus, but not required
