Educator / Manager

I hold a B Ed (Hons) Learner Support from the University of Pretoria (2012) as well as a four year B Ed: ECD (Early Childhood Development) degree from UNISA and have extensive experience as a foundation phase educator. I completed my Advanced Certificate in Mathematics Teaching through UNISA in 2016.

I am confident that I will be able to use the knowledge I have gained through my post-graduate studies to the benefit of this opportunity.

I am currently the owner of my own Remedial, Mathematics and Science centre where I offer remedial help to learners between the ages of Grade 1 and Grade 9.  I am also a Grade 1 and Maths Tutor at a remedial school where I constantly develop new material. I am also the School Manager of Creative Kidz School where I am responsible for the development of staff, learners, assessment and the school.

I am fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans) – having grown up in a home where both languages are spoken.  I completed my degree with English as language of instruction.  My experience as a teacher has been gained in bilingual, multi-cultural environments and I have also gained extensive experience facilitating learners with special learning needs. My son has also been diagnosed as being on the ASD spectrum.

I am fully computer literate – I took Computer Typing (now known as Computer Application Technology) as an eighth subject at school and my interest in this field has grown over the years.  I enjoy bringing technology and electronic media into the classroom and pride myself in the teaching aids I produce and use.  While in a relief post at Rietondale Primary School, I attended SmartBoard WhiteBoard training.   I am currently gaining experience in webinar presentations in my capacity as a part-time subject advisor for Brainline Learning World.

I take pride in my values and in my work and am a very caring person.  I always aim to find new and innovative methods and ideas in my teaching and place a high premium on the learners’ enjoyment of the learning experience.
