Job Description
This is a remote position.

A fast-growing Fintech company with a small but talented development team of four engineers is seeking an experienced Remote Part time Chief Technical Officer (10-20 hours per week), to bring technical leadership, structure, and organisational clarity to help their team perform at its best. The CTO will be responsible for building the frameworks, workflows, and documentation needed to scale their development efforts. You’ll serve as the critical bridge between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring the team is aligned, efficient, and consistently delivering high-quality output.

This is a part-time, remote role, ideal for someone who has held senior technical leadership positions and thrives in startup environments, bringing order, clarity, and mentorship to growing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Establish development processes and workflows (agile practices, sprint planning, code reviews, QA).

Implement best-in-class documentation standards for code, systems, and processes.

Provide technical oversight and guide architectural decisions.

Mentor and coach the existing team of 4 developers, ensuring accountability and growth.

Align the engineering roadmap with business priorities.

Introduce tools and systems for better collaboration, tracking, and reporting.

Act as a trusted advisor to the founder on technical matters, ensuring clear communication and translation of business needs into engineering tasks.

Requirements
Previous experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent leadership role.

Strong background in building processes and structures for engineering teams.

Proven ability to lead and mentor developers in a small, growing team.

Excellent communicator who can simplify complex technical concepts.

Familiarity with SaaS / startup environments is a plus.

Comfortable working on a fractional/part-time basis with high impact.
