Position: Project Manager

Location: Work from Home

Employment Type: 4 month contract position

Key Responsibilities

Scoping and planning of the project and in line with Client Methodology.
Development of all project artefacts in line with Client Methodology in conjunction with Client Project Owner.
Development of Project Plans – The development of the project plan will be developed on the principle of rolling wave planning.
Scheduling – Project schedules will be developed, and resources allocated with activity duration and sequencing.
Project Controls
Scope Control.
Schedule Control.
Cost Control.
Quality Control.
Integrated Change Control.
Risk Control.
Integrated monthly reports:

Ø Weekly and Monthly Progress Report including:

Project forecasted completion versus Actual Completion.
Baseline % vs Physical % progress achieved.
Tasks items were delayed.
Tasks to start in the next reporting period (Project look ahead).
Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
Impending schedule slippages from the critical path.

Ø Weekly and Monthly Cost Report

Cash flow.
Budget overruns and associated corrective action.
Control of actual versus budgeted expenditure on the project
Budget at Completion and Estimate at Completion cost tracking.
Management of Contingency.
Earned Value Management if required by the client
Project Controls general tasks and responsibilities will include:

Ø Establish the Project Controls Team.

Ø Ensure the development of project controls systems.

Ø Manage the Project Controls Team/function and assure adherence to:

Integrated Change Management:

Ø Registering of changes in Project scope.

Ø Registering of changes in cost of the project because of changes made during the lifecycle of the project.

Ø Registering of changes in the Project schedule because of changes made during the lifecycle of the project.

Communication Management.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control:

Ø Track quality of deliverables from project consultants.

Risk management.
Project Registers:

Ø Incidents Register:

Logging of all incidents in the approved incident register and analysis of the impact the logged.

Ø Issues Register.

Inclusive tracking of issues escalated for resolution.
All project issues must be logged into the approved Issues Register on an ongoing basis, and as with incidents and decisions, any impact the issues may have on the project scope, time and/or cost must be analyzed and reported to the Project Manager. Any issues that affect the scope will be managed with Change Management Process.

Ø Risk Register:

All project risks must be logged, and mitigation plans developed. These must be monitored on a regular basis and impacts determined.
Advise and recommend the Project Manager on project related risks for mitigation purposes and potential.

Ø Change Register:

Change Control when the project scope, cost or time is affected, an impact analysis will be done on project scope, cost, or time.
Any variations to project scope, time and/or cost will be reported during meetings and managed via the Change Control process. RFC needs approval prior to any changes being affected.

Ø Decision Register:

Inclusive of decisions escalated for resolution.
As with incidents, all formal decisions made during the project lifecycle must be logged in the approved decisions register.
If found that the decisions affect the project scope, an impact analysis will be done on project time (schedule) and cost as well.

Required Skills And Experience

10 Years experience as a project manager

Mining experience.

Strong Project Management capability with proven delivery in complex environments.

Ability to build, manage, and maintain MSP (Microsoft Project) schedules.

Skilled in remote management of diverse teams, processes, and stakeholders.

Competent in facilitating progress meetings, steercom sessions, and project reporting.

Solid understanding of ICT environments, software rollout processes, and laboratory operations (advantageous).

Excellent communication, coordination, and problem solving skills

Required Qualifications

PMP or equivalent Project Management certification

ICT qualification
