Exchange Life is a fast-growing e-commerce travel jewelry brand. We sell collectible country charms for travelers, with new products launching soon. Our content team of editors, filmmakers, and creators works fully remotely.

We’re hiring an editor who can own their output and be creative within proven marketing fundamentals. This is a long-term engagement, not a one-off project. Many of our editors have worked with us for two or more years. You’ll collaborate with our Content Lead and Marketing team.

What success looks like

Within three to six months, you’re consistently producing short-form videos that perform on both paid and organic channels, hitting 50%+ thumb-stop rates and 30%+ hold rates, and iterating on winning formats independently.

Responsibilities

Edit TikTok and Reels content optimized for hook rate, retention, and watch time
Deliver approximately 150-300 edits per month against agreed briefs
Review recent performance data, identify what is and isn’t working, and apply those lessons
Test new creative angles with the marketing team and iterate on proven formats
Turn work around quickly and keep the team updated asynchronously
Track TikTok and Instagram trends and apply them where relevant
Requirements

A recent portfolio of short-form edits, ideally 20+ from the past few months
Ability to break down why a viral video or high-performing ad worked
Experience with multiple formats: headline videos, talking heads, voiceovers, AI-generated video
Comfortable reading performance metrics and adjusting accordingly
Highly skilled in CapCut Pro or a comparable editing tool
Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English, as all briefs and team communication are in English
Takes ownership and applies feedback consistently
Preferred

Experience editing for e-commerce brands
Experience interpreting paid ad metrics and understanding what drives performance
This role may not be the right fit if

Your portfolio is mostly long-form, YouTube, or event/wedding content
You prefer close day-to-day supervision
You’re looking for a short-term project or side gig
Working style

Independent contractor engagement, paid in USD on a fixed monthly fee
100% remote, long-term, with a full-time volume of work
You set your own schedule and choose your own working methods. No required timezone overlap
Agreed breaks are arranged in advance with no reduction to your monthly fee
You’ll use your own equipment. We provide access to CapCut Pro and to TikTok and Meta analytics
Access to courses, software, and one-on-one mentorship
