Title: Dental Receptionist (Remote) — UK Practice — Inbound & Outbound Calls — Base + Performance Bonus

About us

B62 Dental is a busy dental practice in Halesowen in the West Midlands of the UK. We’ve been serving our community for over 30 years and are currently expanding our team as we grow our private membership plan alongside our NHS work.

We already have one wonderful South African virtual receptionist on our team, and we’re looking to hire a second experienced person to join us as we scale our patient outreach.

About the role

You’ll be the friendly voice patients hear when they call B62 Dental — and the friendly voice they hear when we reach out proactively. Split roughly 30/70 between inbound and outbound calls, you’ll be:

Answering inbound patient calls: appointment bookings, general enquiries, treatment questions, membership plan explanations
Making outbound calls to existing NHS patients to introduce them to our private membership plans
Calling patients who have treatment recommended but never booked — getting them back in
Calling patients before their upcoming private treatment appointments to show them how joining a plan is better value than paying one-off
Managing patient records in Dentally (our practice management system) with care and precision
Sending follow-up emails to patients
Working closely with our practice manager and existing reception team
You’ll work UK business hours, Monday to Friday.

What we’re looking for — MUST HAVES

  • Dental experience. You’ve worked as a dental receptionist, dental nurse, or in a similar dental practice role. We need someone who already understands dental terminology and how a practice runs — we’re not looking to train you from scratch on dentistry.
  • Excellent, neutral English. Clear pronunciation, warm tone, comfortable on the phone with UK patients of all ages — including elderly patients who may be hard of hearing.
  • Eye for detail. Patient records need to be accurate. You’ll spot missing emails, phone numbers in the wrong field, out-of-date medical histories, and small errors that others might miss.
  • Comfortable with basic technology. You’ll use Dentally, email, Google Sheets, WhatsApp and video calls daily. You don’t need to be technical, but you shouldn’t be nervous about learning new systems.
  • Reliable home setup. Fibre internet (min 20Mbps), quiet home office, quality headset, and a backup power arrangement (UPS, inverter, or solar) that keeps you online during loadshedding.
Warm, patient personality. Many of our patients are elderly or anxious about the dentist. You need to be someone who genuinely enjoys putting people at ease.

    Nice to have (not essential)

Previous experience working with UK-based clients
Some sales or customer-conversion experience

What we offer

Base pay: competitive with the SA market for experienced dental VAs
Performance bonus: additional bonus per successful membership plan sign-up, plus a monthly bonus for hitting conversion targets.
Hours: Monday to Friday, UK business hours (roughly 10am–6pm SAST during UK summer, 11am–7pm SAST during UK winter)
Paid leave: 20 days per year plus UK bank holidays observed
Full onboarding: we have detailed onboarding materials, scripts, cheat sheets and daily worksheets already built and refined with our existing team — you won’t be figuring it out alone
A real team, not a call centre. You’ll work directly with our practice manager and existing  reception team. Small practice, real relationships, and a supportive environment.

How to apply

Please send us three things:

  • Your CV — including your dental experience with practice names, dates, and what you did in each role.
  • A short voice note (60–90 seconds). Introduce yourself, briefly describe your dental experience, and answer this question: “A long-standing NHS patient calls in frustrated because her recent check-ups have felt rushed, and the dentist told her hygiene isn’t covered on the NHS. How would you respond?” We want to hear your voice and your thinking — not a polished script.
  • A one-line answer to this question: what is one thing you always check on a patient record before making an outbound call?
  • Please include the word “GENUINE” somewhere in your application so we know you’ve read this advert carefully.
