Maria Approved
If you know who Tank is in The Matrix, you already understand this job. If you do not, go look him up. It will tell you more about what I need than the rest of this ad will.
WHAT THIS IS
I have spent twenty years building an audience without algorithms and without traditional marketing. They are still here. I am building a media brand in public now, and I want one person to be my right hand while I stay the voice.
I am hiring an executive assistant, not a virtual assistant, and the difference matters. A virtual assistant waits for tasks. I do not have time to assign tasks. I need someone who sees what is coming, takes it off my plate before I ask, and can act for me without checking in on every step.
Business and personal both. They are not separate lanes in my life. Scheduling, travel, follow ups, and the personal logistics that eat my week. You will see private information. Discretion is the one thing I will not give a second chance on.
THE OTHER HALF OF THE JOB
Content operations, because that is what the brand runs on.
- Substack is the hub. Publishing, scheduling, keeping the pipeline three months deep.
- Repurposing. Pulling clips and reels out of my existing library. Not cinematic editing. Trimming, captioning, shipping.
- Trend research with a purpose. Find what is moving, then pull what I already have that fits it.
- Comments and replies, in my voice.
- SOPs for everything we build.
HOW IT WORKS
My AI drafts from my archive. You make it sound like me. That part matters most. I record audio when something sparks me, sometimes for hours, and you turn it into everything.
The stack is Claude and Claude Code with custom agents already built, Obsidian, Google Drive, Substack, YouTube, Signal, and a video tool called SuperCool. You do not need to know all of it. If you can ask an AI for step by step instructions and then follow them, you will be fine. If you need someone to sit with you and teach you each tool, this will not work.
THE VOICE BAR
If it sounds like AI wrote it, it failed. I am direct. Short sentences. Real words. Warm and funny, and genuinely angry at people who sell certainty and do not keep their word. No em dashes, ever. I will notice.
Strategy is mine. Execution is yours. You are the human check that keeps everything sounding like me.
WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT
Someone who wants to build this with me. This is early, and what you do will visibly change where it goes.
Not for order takers. Not for anyone who needs to be trained into the role. Not for anyone who ships AI sounding copy and cannot hear the difference.
A NOTE ON THE TITLE
Call yourself a VA, an online business manager, a chief of staff, whatever you like. I do not care what is on your profile. I care whether you can do the things above.
HOURS AND PAY
20 to 30 hours a week to start, growing to full time for the right person. 8 to 15 US dollars an hour. Independent contractor, paid in USD.
I am in Pacific Time, 9 hours behind you. A lot of this happens on your own schedule and I am flexible about that, but I need real daily overlap, which usually means working later into your afternoon. Tell me honestly what hours you would actually work, and whether you would still want them a year from now.
You need your own computer, reliable internet, a real plan for when the power goes out, and Signal.
HOW TO APPLY
Send me a short note telling me who you think Tank is and why you want this. A 60 to 90 second video of yourself saying it beats writing it, and it will put you at the front of the line.
Then briefly: a time you were handed something vague and figured it out, which AI tools you actually use, and what hours you would work.
Please do not send something an AI wrote for you. I will know, and it is the exact skill I am hiring against.
Right-Hand Executive Assistant / Senior VA for a Media Founder (AI-Fluent)
Maria Approved is a media brand built on twenty years of audience. I built that following without algorithms and without traditional marketing, and those people are still here. Now I am stepping out from behind the curtain and building it in public. Substack is the hub, long form goes to YouTube, and everything points back. This is a new launch, so whoever joins me sees it from close to zero and what they do will visibly change where it goes. The team is small on purpose. One founder, one right hand, and a serious AI stack. I have never wanted a big team, which should tell you how much this role matters.
