About the Role

We are a fast-paced recruitment company seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Background Check Administrator to join our team in South Africa. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our compliance process, ensuring that all potential candidates meet our strict vetting standards. You will be exclusively responsible for initiating, monitoring, and reviewing background checks using our established and approved third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management: Utilize our pre-approved vendors to initiate comprehensive background checks on potential candidates (e.g., criminal records, credit checks, qualification verifications, and employment history).
Candidate Liaison: Reach out to candidates to collect necessary documentation, identification, and signed consent forms required to process their checks.
Status Tracking: Monitor the progress of all ongoing background checks, following up with vendors promptly regarding any delays or missing information.
Report Review & Escalation: Review completed background check reports for accuracy. Identify any discrepancies, red flags, or adverse findings, and confidently escalate these to the relevant recruiters or hiring managers.
Data Compliance: Maintain highly accurate and confidential candidate records.
General Administration: Keep the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or internal databases updated with the latest background check statuses.
Requirements & Qualifications

Previous experience in an administrative, compliance, or data-entry role (prior experience in recruitment or HR is highly advantageous).
High level of integrity and strict adherence to confidentiality when handling sensitive personal data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with candidates, recruiters, and vendors.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple candidate profiles simultaneously without losing track of details.
Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn vendor portals and internal database systems.
