Role Overview
Job Duck is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Case Support Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced civil litigation environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring legal operations run smoothly by managing documents, coordinating schedules, and supporting case preparation from start to finish. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and confident in taking ownership of tasks while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This position is well-suited for someone who views their role as a true partner to the legal team and is eager to grow within the legal field. Daily work will have a direct impact on meeting deadlines, supporting case strategy, and delivering a high-quality client experience.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM PST (USA)
Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:
Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Coordinating internal communication using Slack and email
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in Clio
Assisting with research and case preparation as needed
Reviewing, organizing, and filing legal documents in court systems
Preparing initial drafts of discovery requests and client communications
Supporting attorneys and paralegals with daily administrative and legal tasks
Performing date calculations to ensure all legal deadlines are met
Scheduling appointments, hearings, and internal deadlines
What We’re Looking For:
At least one year of experience as a legal assistant, or in a legal support role and/or related Bachelor’s degree in legal studies
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Detail-oriented with high accuracy in document handling
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Integrity with a strong sense of confidentiality and discretion
Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new legal software
Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced environment
Dependable with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Collaborative team player who communicates confidently and respectfully
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate needs
Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
