Our client, a fast-growing US-based marketing agency, is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join their team. The agency specialises in delivering high-impact digital marketing solutions exclusively for electrical contractors, helping businesses dominate their local markets and generate consistent inbound leads.
Job Title: SEO Specialist
Hours: Full-time (client also open to considering 20hrs per week)
Location: USA (est hours with PST overlap)
Rate: R30,000 – R40,000 per month depending on experience

The Role
As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies that improve local visibility, increase website traffic, and drive qualified leads for electrical contractor clients. A strong emphasis will be placed on Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) optimisation and website SEO performance.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies tailored to local service-based businesses
Optimise and manage Google Business Profiles to improve local rankings and map pack visibility
Conduct keyword research with a focus on high-intent, location-based search terms
Perform on-page SEO including meta tags, content optimisation, internal linking, and schema markup
Execute technical SEO audits and implement fixes (site speed, indexing, crawlability, etc.)
Build and manage local citations and backlink strategies
Monitor rankings, traffic, and conversions using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and third-party SEO platforms
Requirements
Proven experience in SEO, with a strong focus on local SEO
Demonstrated expertise in Google Business Profile optimisation and management
Solid understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO principles
Experience working with service-based or trade industries (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is highly desirable
Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and website performance optimisation
Excellent communication and organisational skills
