West Village Interior
About Us
West Village Interior (https://westvillageinterior.com/) is a boutique New York City interior design firm with 92+ completed residential and commercial projects. We work with high-end NYC clients on full-service interior design, space planning, and furniture procurement. We’re growing fast — recent clients average $7,500+ per project — and are actively expanding into commercial office design. We need a sharp, polished closer to own our sales process end-to-end.
The Role
This is a full-cycle sales role split between two core functions: closing warm inbound leads and generating new commercial opportunities through outbound prospecting.
On the inbound side, you’ll be the first point of contact for leads coming in through Bark, Houzz, Instagram DMs, and our website. Speed and professionalism matter — high-end design clients make fast judgments. You’ll qualify, consult, propose, and close. Our proposals are streamlined (a scoped hours estimate plus a standard service agreement), so the role is about trust-building and consultative selling, not hard pitching.
On the outbound side, you’ll use LinkedIn to identify and engage NYC companies likely to need office design services — businesses that have recently raised funding, signed new leases, or are growing their headcount. You’ll run structured outreach campaigns, qualify interest, and book discovery calls.
What You’ll Do
Inbound — Closing
- Monitor and respond promptly to inbound inquiries
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand project scope, budget, and timeline
- Send tailored project proposals (hours estimate + service agreement template)
- Follow up persistently and professionally until signed or disqualified
- Manage the full client handoff to the design team once signed
Outbound — LinkedIn Prospecting
- Identify target companies in NYC using LinkedIn Sales Navigator (funded startups, growing teams, office relocations)
- Build and execute structured outreach sequences — connection requests, personalized messages, follow-ups
- Qualify commercial prospects and book discovery calls for the principal designer
- Maintain a clean outbound pipeline with weekly reporting on activity and conversion
General - Keep CRM updated with accurate pipeline data, notes, and next steps
- Report weekly on inbound conversion rates by channel and outbound activity metrics
- Represent the WVI brand with the same polish our NYC clients expect
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of sales experience with a track record of closing — not just setting appointments
- Native or near-native English — you’ll be selling to affluent NYC residential clients and business decision-makers
- Consultative, warm selling style — our clients are not responding to high-pressure closes
- Proven LinkedIn outreach experience — you know how to write a message that gets a reply
- Highly responsive and organized — inbound speed-to-lead is critical in design
- Comfortable with CRM tools and managing a dual inbound/outbound pipeline
- Background or genuine interest in interior design, real estate, or luxury services
Compensation
- Base: $1,000 – $1,500/month USD (depending on experience)
- Commission — tiered by project value:
- 4% on projects under $5K
- 6% on projects $5K–$15K
- 8% on projects above $15K
- On-target earnings: $2,300+/month USD at 4–5 closes/month
- At our current average deal size of ~$7,500, a rep closing 4–5 projects/month earns approximately $1,500+ in commission on top of base. Larger commercial deals accelerate earnings significantly.
- Structure: Independent contractor
This role is ground-floor in a fast-scaling operation. As our commercial office vertical grows, the right person has a clear path to Sales Manager — owning the full sales function, building out the team, and earning a larger share of revenue. We promote based on results, not tenure.
