Job Title: Junior Sage Bookkeeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Data Entry: Enter financial transactions, including income and expenses, into Sage accounting software with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Invoicing and Payments: Generate and send invoices to clients, track payments, and manage accounts receivable using Sage.
  • Expense Management: Record and categorize all business expenses, including receipts and invoices, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with Sage records to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate cash flow records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements using Sage software.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll functions, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensure accurate payroll processing through Sage Payroll if applicable.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and adjust practices accordingly.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to gather financial information and provide insights on financial matters.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Software Maintenance: Update and maintain Sage accounting software, ensuring it operates efficiently and taking necessary actions for software-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, specifically using Sage accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using Sage accounting software for various financial tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing using Sage Payroll (if applicable).
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate relevant reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
