About the job

At Radiant Law, winner of multiple awards as a legal pioneer, we are continuing to see exciting new client work coming through from a rapidly expanding international client base. We are now recruiting attorneys with between 3 and 5 years of post-admission experience to join our commercial contracts team.

We are looking for lawyers who ideally have a solid background in commercial and procurement contracts, including experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating high-value and complex agreements. If you don’t have that, but do have energy and interest in this area of the law, we’d love to hear why you think the role is right for you!

Who thrives at Radiant?

We do things differently here. Our team is curious, pragmatic, and always focused on doing great work – efficiently, creatively, and with purpose.

Yes, we’re known for innovation and challenging the traditional model. But we’re also deeply focused on delivery. That means being highly organised, detail-oriented, and driven by process. We’re looking for doers: people who enjoy getting stuck in, consistently moving the work forward with both speed and high quality, and then figuring out how to do it even better next time.

What you’ll get to do

You’ll work closely with global clients to:

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, often under tight deadlines. This may include MSAs, SOWs, supply of goods and services, licensing and other types of agreements.
Use data to understand and improve how we’re delivering for clients.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, often collaborating with our software developers, legal engineers and document automation specialists.
Deliver process improvement projects and help us show clients how we keep getting better.
Share your knowledge by documenting learnings and leading internal training.
Over time, take on responsibility for managing client accounts and owning the success of our service delivery.

What we’re looking for

You should:

Be based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.
Be an admitted attorney, with between 3 and 5 years of post-articles experience (time spent working in-house is particularly of interest).
Have experience, or a strong interest, in commercial contracts. If you haven’t worked in this area before, tell us why it excites you and how you think it fits with your existing skills.
Be comfortable in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and plenty of autonomy.
Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a natural drive to improve how things are done.

What we offer

A hybrid working model (home and office) combined with a dynamic and supportive team environment.
Interesting, high-impact work with leading international clients.
An opportunity to work with cutting-edge legal technology and process thinking.
Time to learn and apply lean principles, with real-world results.
A place where your ideas and creativity are valued, especially when they help us get things done better.

Want to join us?

We’re not a typical legal workplace, so we encourage you to get a feel for what we’re all about. Check out the first two short videos on our careers page www.radiantlaw.com/careers or our YouTube channel to learn more about who we are, what we do, and what’s important to us. If it feels like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply, and tell us a bit about your experience and interest in commercial contracts and why this opportunity excites you.

Please note: If you have applied for a role with us in the last 12 months, there’s no need to reapply, we already have your details.

Radiant Law is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and anti-discrimination. We encourage applications from all suitably qualified persons, regardless of race, age, gender, disability, religious belief or sexual orientation.

Legal Advisor: 3-5 years post-admission experience

We are a law firm leading the way in optimising how large companies create, negotiate and manage their commercial contracts. We believe that contracting should be simple and easy. We help our clients make this a reality by: - negotiating their high-volume day-to-day commercial contracts - helping optimise internal contracting processes - updating lots of contracts - supporting large outsourcing, technology and commercial deals, and - building and implementing lawtech We do this for many of the world's largest companies and banks by combining fixed pricing (to give you certainty and align our interests), applying legal judgement, design, data and process rigour, and by developing technology.
